Lafayette Engineering Abroad – Spring Semester

Every spring semester, Jacobs opens its doors to Lafayette College engineering students to spend a semester abroad in Bremen, Germany.

The Lafayette Engineering Abroad program includes the following special courses:

  • German Politics & Culture (Syllabus)
  • Applied Differential Equations & Modeling
  • Basic Electrical Circuits
  • Strength of Material

Additionally, this semester abroad includes faculty-led study trips to the following locations:

  • Bremen parliament – to get a taste of the city-state of Bremen’s governmental institutions
  • Berlin – to tour Germany’s highest governmental institutions
  • Brussels¬†– for an in-depth look at EU bureaucracy and diplomacy
  • Helgoland islands – to see historic WW2 bunkers and see the picturesque dunes and seals
  • St. Petersburg – for a deeper understanding of contemporary East-West relations
